ACE Nu-Line Gutter Replacement Brisbane

Rusted All-in-One Fascia Gutter? We Convert Nu-Line Systems Across Brisbane

This page is only about ACE and Nu-Line gutters — the old all-in-one system where the fascia and the gutter are a single piece of steel. If that is what is on your Brisbane home and it has started rusting, sagging or leaking, you cannot simply cut out the bad bit and slot a new gutter in. The whole run has to come off and be rebuilt as a separate fascia and gutter.

People write it a dozen different ways — Nu-Line, Nu Line, NuLine, ACE Nu-Line, or just ACE gutters. Same system, same problem, and it is the one QLD Roof N Gutter gets called out to replace.

This page covers Brisbane. For the full rundown on the system itself — how it was built, what it is made of and why it fails — see our ACE Nu-Line gutter replacement page.

Nu-Line fascia gutter rusting from the inside out

Why a Nu-Line Gutter Cannot Be Patched

On a normal roofline the fascia and the gutter are two separate things, so a bad section of gutter can be cut out and replaced on its own. A Nu-Line or ACE system is not built that way. The fascia and the gutter are pressed as one piece, and that piece is doing two jobs at once — carrying water, and holding the edge of the roof.

That is why sectional repairs do not work on it:

  • You cannot take the gutter off without taking the fascia off with it
  • Nothing on the shelf today matches the profile, so a patched section never lines up
  • It rusts from the inside out, so by the time you can see it, the run is usually gone
  • Once it fails, water gets in behind the roof edge and into the walls

So the fix is a conversion, not a repair. The old all-in-one unit comes off and a modern Colorbond fascia and a separate Colorbond gutter go on in its place — which is a roofline you can actually maintain, repair and re-colour down the track.

Replacing a Nu-Line Gutter Takes Three Different Trades

This is the part most people are not told when they start ringing around, and it is the reason a lot of contractors will not quote the job at all. Converting an all-in-one fascia gutter system into a normal fascia and gutter is not a one-tradesman job. It takes three different trades, working in order on the same roofline: a tiler to lift and re-lay the roof edge — most of these Brisbane homes are older brick-and-tile, so the bottom course of tiles laps over the top of the Nu-Line unit and has to come up first — then a carpenter to rebuild the fascia, because once the all-in-one unit is off there is none left on the house, and finally a metal roofer to hang the new fascia and gutter, set to fall with the downpipes reconnected.

What that means for you as the homeowner:

  • You cannot get one tradesman to do the whole thing. Each stage needs a different skill set, and the stages have to run in the right order on the same run of roofline.
  • The roofline is rebuilt, not repaired. Once the all-in-one unit is off there is nothing left behind to hang a new gutter on, so the edge of the house has to be built again from scratch.
  • Out of order, it leaks. The jobs we get called out to fix are almost always ones where the stages were rushed or run in the wrong sequence, and water ends up getting in behind the new gutter.
  • A Nu-Line quote will not look like a re-gutter quote. You are pricing three trades instead of one, which is why the numbers are not comparable.

We coordinate all three trades ourselves, so it is one quote, one crew booking, and one company responsible for the finished roofline.

It also means a Nu-Line conversion is a bigger job than a straight re-gutter, and it is priced that way. We will tell you what is involved before you commit to anything.

Brisbane’s Nu-Line Gutter Replacement Specialists

Nu Line Replacement Across Brisbane

We take out ACE and Nu-Line fascia gutter all across Brisbane — Northside, Southside, Bayside and out west. Whether your home is in Camp Hill, Carindale, The Gap or Sunnybank, we will be there on time, ready to get the job done.

Most of the homes carrying this system are the older brick-and-tile builds, so if the house looks like it has never had the roofline touched, there is a fair chance the fascia gutter is original.

What a NuLine Conversion Costs

There is no flat rate on this one. Because it is three trades rather than one, the price moves with the amount of Nu-Line on the house, whether it is single or double storey, how the roofline is built, and what condition the timber behind the old unit is in once it comes off.

We will measure it on site and give you a clear, upfront quote with no hidden extras — including anything we find behind the old system, so it does not turn into a variation halfway through.

FAQs – ACE Nu-Line Gutter Replacement Brisbane

Is it Nu-Line, Nu Line or NuLine?
All of them, plus ACE Nu-Line and just ACE gutters. They all describe the same combined fascia-and-gutter system, and we replace the lot.

How do I know if I have got one?
Look up under the roof edge. If there is no separate timber or metal fascia board behind the gutter — if the gutter and the fascia are obviously the same pressed piece of steel — that is a Nu-Line or ACE system. Send us a photo if you are not sure.

Can I just repair a section of my Nu-Line gutter?
No. Because the fascia and gutter are one piece, there is nothing to leave behind when you cut the bad part out. Even minor damage means replacing the run.

Why does it take three trades?
Because it is a rebuild, not a repair. Taking the all-in-one unit off leaves nothing behind, so the roofline has to be put back together from scratch — a tiler to lift and re-lay the roof edge, a carpenter to rebuild the fascia, and a metal roofer for the new fascia and gutter, one after the other. It is why you cannot get a single tradesman to do it, and why most contractors will not touch it.

What goes back on?
New Colorbond fascia and a separate Colorbond gutter in the profile and colour you pick, with the downpipes reconnected and everything to code.

Do I have to do the whole house at once?
Usually yes, for appearance as much as anything — a converted run next to an original Nu-Line run does not look right. We will assess it and tell you straight.

Do I need council approval?
Generally no, but we will let you know if anything needs signing off. We work to QBCC requirements.

My gutters are ordinary Colorbond, not Nu-Line — what then?
Then this is not your page. A standard roofline with a separate fascia is a straight re-gutter, and that job is covered on our Brisbane gutter replacement page.

Do you cover all of Brisbane?
Yes — Northside, Southside, Bayside and the western suburbs.

How We Do a Nu-Line Conversion

We do not just rip the old system off and hang a gutter where it used to be. Every ACE and Nu-Line job runs the same way, start to finish:

✅ Careful removal and disposal of the old ACE / Nu-Line fascia gutter
✅ Timber behind the old system checked before anything new goes on
✅ New Colorbond fascia supplied and fixed along the full run
✅ New gutter hung in your chosen profile and colour, set to correct fall
✅ Downpipes re-cut and reconnected
✅ Site cleaned, job checked, work guaranteed

You will be dealing with the same company from the quote through to the finished roofline, not three separate contractors you have to chase yourself.

Not Sure You Have Got Nu-Line?

This page is for the all-in-one ACE / Nu-Line fascia gutter only. If your roofline is a different setup, one of these is the job you are after.

Standard Colorbond gutter on a separate fascia

Standard gutters, not Nu-Line

If your gutters are standard Colorbond hung on a separate fascia rather than an all-in-one Nu-Line unit, it is a straight re-gutter. See our Brisbane gutter replacement page.
